RTO: Quantec Solutions
Bookings: Toby Corbett – 0425 768 060
Focus: This unit covers arc welding (safety, equipment and conduct) and welding lifting lugs (in particular welding onto manganese).

Attendees have a choice of a one day, intensive program if they are already trained to AS 1554.1 or its equivalent, or a five day program if they have a history of welding during which they will be trained to AS 1554.1 and welding onto lifting lugs.

The successful completion of this course will give the attendee access to four standard weld procedures to use on their site.

Specific skills (one day session)

  • Prepare the site for welding lifting lugs including checking equipment
  • Source lifting lugs appropriate for the tasks
  • Identify the material constructing the wear part
  • Welding the lug onto the wear part
  • Checking the weld

Employees

This course would assist any welder who is required to weld lifting lugs by increasing their skills and abilities.

Employers

As an employer, this course provides you with the assurance lifting lugs can be attached and used safely and your welder is suitably skilled.
